Financial Planning
A Plan That Brings It All Together
Pensions, investments, protection, tax, mortgage, retirement — most people have pieces of all of these without an overall plan. Our financial planning service joins the dots and gives you a clear roadmap.

Who this is for
Couples or families building wealth
You’re earning well, saving regularly, and want to be sure all the moving parts (pensions, mortgage, investments, protection) are pulling in the same direction.
Approaching retirement (5–10 years out)
You want a clear answer to “can I afford to retire at X with the lifestyle I want?” and a plan to get there.
Going through a transition
Marriage, inheritance, business sale, divorce, redundancy, bereavement — life events that need a structured financial response.
What a financial plan actually covers
Your current position
A complete picture: income, spending, assets, debts, existing pensions and policies. We see what’s working, what’s costing you money, and where the gaps are.
Your goals
Retirement age and lifestyle, mortgage payoff, children’s education, business exit, leaving an inheritance — whatever matters to you, costed and timed.
Your strategy
The contributions, investments, protection and tax structures needed to get from where you are to where you want to be. With trade-offs explained clearly.
Annual reviews
Life changes. Markets move. Tax rules shift. We update your plan annually so it stays relevant — not a one-off document in a drawer.
Why a plan beats piecemeal advice
All your finances modelled in one place — so a decision about pensions takes into account your mortgage, savings and protection.
“Should I overpay the mortgage or top up my pension?” gets a quantified answer based on your tax position and goals — not a guess.
You know whether you’re on track, what to adjust, and what the next decision is. Most clients say the certainty alone is worth it.
Our financial planning process
- 1
Discovery meeting
Free 60-minute conversation to understand your situation, goals and what you’d like the plan to answer.
- 2
Fact-find & analysis
We gather the detail — payslips, pension statements, mortgage details, existing policies — and build the model.
- 3
Written plan
Your plan, in plain English: where you are, where you’re going, the gap, and the actions to close it. Walked through together.
- 4
Implementation & reviews
We help you put the plan into action and review it annually as your life and the markets change.
How we work together — and what it costs
Two simple steps. The first is always free, so you’ll know if we’re the right fit before you commit to anything.
Step 1 — Free initial call
We’ll go through your query together and see if we can help. We only offer a paid service if we think we can bring you real value — if we can’t, we’ll tell you straight away and point you in the right direction.
30 minutes by Zoom or phone. We’ll send the meeting link when you book.

Step 2 — Choose the option that suits you
We’ll ask you for some information in advance, then do a call to run through your options. Good for specific financial questions — mortgages, pensions, investments, retirement.
More detailed planning work that results in a documented financial plan with clear actions. A good fit when you want everything in writing.
All prices are quoted in writing before any paid work begins — so there are no surprises later.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from getting a pension or investment quote?
A product quote answers “what’s the best PRSA for me?” A financial plan answers “given everything I want out of life, how much should I be putting into a pension versus paying down the mortgage versus investing, and what does my retirement actually look like?”
What does a financial plan cost?
We charge a transparent advice fee for the planning work itself (quoted up front based on complexity). Where you take products through us, we may waive or offset the fee against commission. We always show you the cost and the alternative before you decide.
How long does it take to build a plan?
Typically 3–6 weeks from discovery meeting to walking through your written plan, depending on the complexity of your situation and how quickly we can gather information from existing providers.
Do I have to implement the plan with you?
No. The plan is yours. You can implement it with us, with another adviser, or yourself. We hope you’ll choose to work with us — but we earn that by giving you a plan you trust.
What if my situation is simple — do I need a full plan?
Not necessarily. For more straightforward needs we can do focused advice on a single product or decision. The financial planning service makes most sense when there are several moving parts to coordinate.
Advice across Ireland’s six leading life & pension providers
Great service — they spent a lot of time working on and explaining my query in detail. Would highly recommend.
